As a University of Wisconsin - Madison alumna, I take true pride in my education from the Communication Arts Department and try to utilize it within my profession. MIKE'S RETIREMENT BUCKET LIST

Due to my connection with the UW Marching Band, I was asked among a couple other band alumni to help film promotional material for Professor Mike Leckrone's final spring concert. This is a compilation of shorts that were featured over the course of a few weeks prior to the concert.
Production involvement: storyboarding, filming, and editing.

KITEBOARDING AT McDANIEL PARK

For the first few years of working for the Village of McFarland, it was common to see kites in the distance flying over Lake Waubesa. We decided one day to go out and learn more about the frequent visitors.
Production involvement: storyboarding and directing.

WARMING WINTERS

Recognized and shown at the National Science Foundation annual conference, this video involved a lot of people and information provided over the course of a year.
Production involvement: filming, animating, interviewing, and editing.

McFARLAND SPARTANS VS. EVANSVILLE BLUE DEVILS

Recently awarded an "Award of Excellence" in the live professional category at the 2023 Best of the Midwest Media Fest organized every year by Wisconsin Community Media. This live production was also recognized as "Best In Show" overall.

13 NIGHTS OF HALLOWEEN

One of my favorite parts of working for a local access channel was the ability to play public domain horror films. Each year, I scheduled movies for the "13 Nights of Halloween." Before a film aired, one of these two openers would play before the film.

PRESCRIBED BURNS

Each year, many municipalities conduct prescribed burns. In order to educate the public on why they occur and how they're important, a PSA was created and shared to McFarland residents.

WAUSAU CHALKFEST TIME-LAPSE

Who doesn't love a time-lapse? I have participated in Wausau's Chalkfest for over 15 years. I always had the idea of producing a time-lapse to exemplify the 18+ hours of work that goes into my artwork throughout the weekend. Once I had the video gear to do so, I took advantage of the opportunity.

McFARLAND BAND-O-RAMA

Possibly the largest production "set" I worked on was for the McFarland school district-wide band concert, Band-O-Rama. This required a lot of pre-production communication of what each camera person was going to do and when, as it was then a multi-cam edit in post production.
